The Faculty of Education was established in 1946 as the fifth faculty of Masaryk University. Its aim is to train teachers for pre-schools, primary schools, lower secondary and upper secondary schools Apart from the teacher training programmes, the faculty focuses on inclusive education, special education, social education and multicultural education. The institution offers a wide range of lifelong learning programmes and short-term courses specifically tailored for the current needs of teachers and schools. It educates more than 4,3000 students both in full-time and part-time study programmes. Graduates are successful educators – teachers, teacher assistants, social education teachers, adult trainers, mentors and community workers, and internationally recognised researchers.
