The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology, offers international students a modern and practical engineering education in the heart of Brno. Our English-taught Civil Engineering programmes combine strong technical knowledge, project-based learning and cooperation with the construction industry. Admission and entrance exams

The admission procedure for international self-financing students consists of three stages:
(1) Document screening — verification of submitted documents and minimum requirements (secondary education/bachelor's degree, English B2, GPA 2.5/4.0, motivation letter)
(2) Online admission interview — a 15-minute interview conducted in English via Microsoft Teams, scored on a 0–20 point scale (basic knowledge, mathematics, physics)
(3) Final decision based on combined results.
Applications are submitted electronically.

Applicants who pass the document screening are invited to an online admission interview (approx. 15 minutes, in English). The interview is scored on a scale of 0–20 points in three areas: English language skills, motivation and study plans, and knowledge of mathematics and physics / civil engineering fundamentals.
Applicants scoring 10+ points are recommended for admission, 8–9 points may be conditionally admitted, below 8 points are not recommended.

Additional information

BUT offers student accommodation in university halls of residence. Students can apply for dormitory accommodation, which is also recommended for visa purposes.

Students can use BUT dining facilities, including canteens, cafeterias, cafés and restaurants with online menus.

The faculty cooperates with construction companies and supports students in gaining professional experience and future career opportunities in the civil engineering sector.
