Metropolitan University Prague (MUP) ranks among the oldest and largest private universities in the Czech Republic. Every year, approximately 1500 students enroll in the first year of studies at MUP. As of present, MUP provides education to approximately 4000 students. Since its establishment in 2001, the university produced more than 17000 alumni.
MUP offers study programmes in the area of the humanities, international territorial studies, legal specialisations, media and communication studies, and international economic relations in both full-time and part-time forms of study in Czech as well as English.
Metropolitan University Prague provides education in Bachelor’s Degree (Bc.), Master’s Degree (Mgr., Ing.), and Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. and PhDr.) study programmes.
Admission and entrance exams
Exceptionally, for the upcoming academic year we have cancelled the entrance examinations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree study programmes conducted in Czech.
The entrance examinations for the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree study programmes conducted in English will be held online.
We have extended the deadlines for the Doctoral Degree study programmes and Rigorosum Proceedings applications.
The entrance examinations for the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree study programmes conducted in English are held continuously in electronic form in the period from 20 April 2020 to 26 October 2020. Each applicant will receive a login combination to the online application after submitting the application to study.
* The admission procedure for foreigners in the study programmes conducted in Czech will be without the verification of Czech language skills.
- The entrance examinations for the Bachelor’s Degree study programmes conducted in Czech are exceptionally cancelled. Applicants are accepted in the order in which they submitted the application to study until the capacity of the individual study programmes is full.
- The entrance examinations for all study programmes conducted English are exceptionally held electronically. Interviews and oral parts of examinations are cancelled.
In addition to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Degree study programmes, Metropolitan University Prague offers an intensive semester-long course of Czech for Foreigners within its Lifelong Learning Programme. The course guarantees high-quality instruction and is designed for applicants who would like learn Czech in order to attend university study programmes in the Czech Republic that are taught in Czech.

Metropolitan University Prague offers an intensive two-semester course in English language. The course guarantees high-quality instruction and is designed for pre-intermediate and intermediate users of the English language, primarily for those who would like to improve their English knowledge in order to attend university study programmes that are taught in English in the Czech Republic or abroad, however, their language competences do not meet the admission requirements for such programme.
