About us
The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art is a modern art school which builds on the inspiring legacy of the ingenious Czech-American designer and visionary Ladislav Sutnar. The school offers a broad spectrum of disciplines focused mainly on design and applied art, with internationality and interdisciplinarity being its priorities. Its projects and activities connect art, design, and technology and include cooperation with the technical faculties of the University as well as many Czech and foreign cultural and educational institutions.
The faculty runs the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery, annually awards the prestigious Ladislav Sutnar Prize, organizes ArtCamp – the International Summer School of Art, and other special events such as the Jiří Trnka International Symposium and Boundaries - the International Photography Symposium.

Admission and entrance exams
Study programmes at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art are accredited and taught in Czech language. However, the faculty can accept international exchange students for short term studies and is happy to participate in international projects and research. The university offers Czech language preparatory courses for applicants interested in full time studies. A new English master´s study programme is currently in the process of preparation.
The entrance exams for bachelor´s study programmes consist of portfolio evaluation (submitted online), selected applicants are invited for talent exams which take place in person in the studios of the faculty. The entrance exams for master´s study programmes take place in person and consist of portfolio review, presentation of a study project and motivational interview.
