Turn your ideas into reality at one of the most dynamic engineering schools in Central Europe

At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEL), University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, students don’t just learn about circuits and codes — they create. From electric vehicles and robotics to smart systems and energy innovations, they work on real projects with real impact.

Here, theory quickly turns into practice. Students collaborate with industry partners, explore research topics, and gain hands-on experience that opens doors around the world.

Apply for Master’s studies by January 31, 2026!
We’ll guide you through every step — application, admission, and visa support included.

“I built an electric mountainboard

“I’m Adam, and during my Bachelor’s studies I worked on building an electric mountainboard with a classmate. It’s basically an off-road version of a longboard — with inflatable wheels, two BLDC motors (5.6 kW in total), and a li-ion battery pack. We reached speeds around 40–50 km/h and learned how to turn a concept into something that really moves.”

Adam’s story shows how easily an idea can turn into a working prototype — powered by creativity, teamwork, and technical skill.

“I’m part of the future of e-mobility

“I’m Poli and I study Electrical Machines. My first project was a power converter for an electric scooter, part of my Bachelor’s thesis. Now I’m working on modeling heat distribution in electric motors to make them more efficient and reliable. The future of e-mobility is simply too great to miss!”

Poli’s work connects research with innovation. Her focus on energy-efficient design and smart mobility reflects one of the fastest-growing industries in Europe.

Programming rock’n’roll

“I’m Honza, and I joined the project to design a robotic bass guitar. It helped me connect what I learned in theory with real technical skills like 3D modeling, programming, and teamwork. Starting projects like this with friends is just great!”

At FEL, even music becomes a playground for engineering! Honza is part of a team developing a robotic rock band — a project that turns creativity and code into rhythm and motion.

Building, testing, and pushing my limits

“I’m Zdeněk, a Ph.D. student focused on electric motor design. I build and test prototype motors that are later used in small electric motorcycles. Our team develops all-electric propulsion systems, including the motor, converter, and battery optimization. I currently design a new electric motor for the project Electric Mobile Platform, in cooperation with our partner Hennlich Ltd.”

Zdeněk’s journey proves that engineering at FEL goes beyond the lab — combining academic research with industry-driven innovation.
