Physiotherapists are highly educated health-care specialists qualified for specialized physiotherapeutic care within preventive, diagnostic, remedial and rehabilitation care in physiotherapy, which can be provided in medical facilities of all types, including rehabilitation institutions and specialized departments, social care facilities, spas and sports facilities.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Charles University

This 3-year-program at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the Charles University qualifies graduates in physiotherapy for a paramedical health care profession. Graduates of this program are allowed to provide treatment within preventive, diagnostic, remedial and rehabilitation care, which can be provided in medical facilities of all types, including rehabilitation institutions and specialized departments, social care facilities, spas and sports facilities. They are endowed with practical skills within the full extent of physiotherapy, act independently and use a broad spectrum of physiotherapeutic methods, including therapeutic procedures based on physical agents. The therapists are endowed with knowledge and skills that comply with the WCPT regulations.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Masaryk University

The aim of this 3-year-program aims to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the performance of the relevant medical profession and to educate for the medical practice a qualified expert - a bachelor who will be entitled to perform the activities of the physiotherapist in the field of therapeutic and preventive care in the frame of therapeutic rehabilitation and other components of comprehensive rehabilitation at the corresponding workplaces both in the state and the private sector, within the scope of the competences defined in the graduate profile. An obligatory part of the program is professional practice. Students must complete a total of 1,872.5 hours of practice, which consists of exercises and 12 weeks of continuous professional practice.

Master in Physiotherapy at the Charles University

The 2-year-program offered by the Charles University is a follow-up Master’s degree program for successful bachelor graduates in Physiotherapy. Successful graduates of this master’s program are provided with the abilities to act independently and to use a broad spectrum of physiotherapeutic methods and procedures, including therapeutic procedures based o­n physical agents.
