Additional information

Research activities of the faculty primarily consist of applied research with an emphasis on the economy of marginal areas and the problems of permanently sustainable development. An important part of the research is aimed at the quality of the agricultural production, and areas under special regimes (national parklands, biospheric reservations, water protection zones etc.).

Furthermore, the employability of graduates is greatly improved by the experience they can gain in the management of farms, companies, and other similar enterprises at the regional and national levels.

The focus of the Faculty’s scientific and research activities is on agriculture, natural sciences, agroecology, engineering and development of new technologies, biotechnology, chemistry, quality and processing of agricultural products or landscape management. Another important activity is the intensive cooperation between the Faculty and the business sector in the areas of consultancy and contracted research. The majority of research activities carried out by the FAT USB is therefore strongly oriented at applied research with benefits for the society as such.
