Škoda Auto University
Czechs love ice hockey. It is a national sport. Every year the whole republic unites in cheering for their national team at the World Championship. If you are a hockey fan yourself or are intrigued to see what all the fuss is about, you might notice a word that has been printed on the ice at the World Championship every year for over three decades. The word is Škoda. Translated to English it means something like “it’s a pity”. But most Czechs will automatically connect the word with a car manufacturer located in Mladá Boleslav. It is the largest car manufacturer in the country and its largest exporter.
