Additional information

  • Scholarships are available for selected study programmes, including preparatory courses. For selected nationalities, government scholarships are also a popular choice. For all students, merit-based scholarships and other bursary opportunities are always available, including financial support in emergency situations. See here for more details.
  • Tuition fees depend on the chosen study programme. Studies in English are always paid while studies in Czech language are free of charge.
  • Housing at the university dormitories is available to all international students throughout their studies. It’s easy, secure and affordable living from day one. Explore our accommodation options here.
  • Health insurance is tailor-made and discounted for CU international students. It provides additional benefits to make your stay in Czechia safe and worriless.
  • Costs of living in Czechia and even in its capital Prague affordable, compared to most other Central and Western Europe. Typical student spends between EUR 8.000–10.000 per year in total, including things like health insurance, housing, culture, and leisure activities. Find out more details including case studies here.
  • Internships and part-time work are common among the students as Czechia has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU and the student visa comes with a work permit. Besides pocket money, students also gain experience, which is often required after graduation, upon entering the job market. In most study programmes, internships are an integral part of the curriculum.
  • Student well-being and inclusion are our priority. Comprehensive system of supports, from counselling services, fitness classes, self-development workshops, resilience training, or academic support including digital resources, e-learning, libraries, study rooms are available to all students, for free. We are committed to providing an inclusive education with tailored support and resources to ensure all students have equal opportunities to succeed.
  • Foundation and Preparatory Courses are offered by the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies. Maximize your chances of passing the entrance exams or improve your language skills in English and Czech. Receive support with visas, academic recognition, and cultural adaptation. Find out more here.
  • Onboarding, adaptation, and integration starts with pairing the admitted applicants with Buddies – local and more experienced students who volunteer to be your personal guides, helping the international freshmen with cultural and social orientation. Tutors then help with academic matters while student associations and Student Ambassadors organise various fun activities throughout the semester. Join our choir, various sport clubs, or become a volunteer.
  • Flexible curriculum, individual study plans and extra-curricular courses allow you to design your own unique path to success. International joint degrees, double-subject studies (maior-minor), individual study plans, and a wide range of optional courses and soft-skills trainings will prepare you for any career path (un)imaginable.
