Game Studies in Brno

If you don’t want to study game development—just a reminder that there’s a new study programme at Charles University in Prague—but you still love videogames and wish to learn as much as possible about them while living in Czechia, you have a chance. Enthusiasts at Masaryk University in Brno put together a club for Game Studies.

Even though it’s not possible to take Game Studies as a proper study programme just yet, there are several subjects you can attend as a student of Masaryk University such as Digital Games, Game Studies, Game Studies Texts, Computer Games in Context of Psychology, Applied Game Studies, Computer Games Critical Analysis and others.

The club also helps out with Gamer Pie festival which had to switch to an online platform Twitch due to coronavirus. Its partners are Masaryk University in Brno and prominent Czech game development teams Bohemia Interactive and Warhorse Studios. In May 2021, there’s going to be Game Access Conference in Brno with many foreign guests. Don’t miss it!
